Surfing in Nosara become the most important sport in town, the quality and the consistency of the waves makes this beach and ideal place to surf. Playa Guiones picks up both North and South facing swells brining surfable waves here over 300 days a year. Nosara Surf Academy
Located on the north side of Guiones their principal commitment is to teach the skills you will need to become a good surfer while you’re in Costa Rica, and show you the different tools you will need to keep learning to surf on your own after you leave. They offer a wide variety of surf lesson packages and any type of surf trip you might have in mind. Nosara Surf Academy instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association) certified.
How to get there: From Café de Paris go left on the main road. Follow it for half kilometer and take the first left, then take the second entrance to the right and follow the road for 200 meters, Nosara Surf Academy is behind of Gilded Iguana.
Nosara Tico Surf School
Nosara’s Local Surf School is a locally owned and run surf school. They offer private surf lessons with some of Costa Rica best surfers. They teach beginners and help experienced surfers wanting to get to the next level. Their commitment is to attract those with a genuine interest in the Costa Rican culture and people. Nosara Tico Surf School is not only about learning to surf and having fun in the ocean but also starting to understand how to be part of a community of surfers.

Cachos Surf School
Cacho’s surf school is hard to miss; the rancho is located in the corner before getting the main beach entrance. This is one of the schools that are owned-operated by local tico, they speak very good English and are very professionals teaching beginners and advanced surfers. They also can organize different trips like fishing tours, kayak tours, horseback riding, canopy and more.
How to get there: From Café de Paris head down the road towards the beach. Follow it for 500 meter and Cachos Surf School will be on your right side corner before the main entrance to the beach.

Safari Surf School
Over 13 years of teaching surf to people that comes from different places around the world, with the purpose to learn surfing. Coconut Harry’s Surf School
Coconut Harry’s is one of the most closest to the beach, in just few steps you will be at the beach. They have been teaching for over 10 years, and their instructors are always excited to teach surf in a fun and safe way. Their principal ingredient to success is personal attention and one on one teaching, that’s what makes the students feel confident when they’re in the water catching waves. They also want you to learn about the waves, the equipment, and how to surf with your fellow surfers.
